Stephanie Yankwitt Named Artistic Associate/Director of New Play Development of Barrington Stage
Barrington Stage Company (BSC), under the leadership of Julianne Boyd Artistic Director and Tristan Wilson Managing Director, announces Stephanie Yankwitt as Artistic Associate/Director of New Play Development. Prior to joining the team at BSC, Stephanie was on the senior artistic staff at the Hangar Theatre from 2009-2013, including the role of Interim Artistic Director for the 2013 season.
At the Hangar Stephanie directed, produced and curated over 65 projects, including: Clybourne Park (director), and a reduced cast iteration of the musical Titanic featuring many of the original Broadway cast members (producer).
Additionally, during her tenure at the Hangar, Stephanie created and developed the Hangar Pilot Reading Series, a monthly series dedicated to developing new work by playwrights including Anton Dudley, Michael Elyanow, and Lauren Feldman.
Directing credits include regional work as well as associate directing on Broadway (American Buffalo and November), including plays by Katie Bender, Stephen Adly Guirgis, and David Mamet. Stephanie's background in casting includes work with Bernie Telsey & Tara Rubin in New York, and Francine Maisler in Los Angeles. Stephanie is on faculty at New York University Tisch School of the Arts at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
