Reagle Players Earn 14 IRNE Nominations Including Best Actor and Actress Nods for David Engel, Jamie Ross and Rachel York

The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards committee announced on February 11 that the Reagle Players of Waltham, Mass., received 14 IRNE nominations for its 2009 summer season. Included among the nominees for Best Actor and Actress in a Musical are Broadway veterans David Engel and Jamie Ross for La Cage aux Folles and Rachel York for Hello, Dolly!

Both productions, part of a full season tribute to Jerry Herman, also received nominations for Best Musical by a Large Theater.

Below is the complete list of Reagle nominations:

Best Actress: Rachel York for Hello, Dolly!
Best Actor: David Engel for La Cage aux Folles
Best Actor: Jamie Ross for La Cage aux Folles
Best Supporting Actress: Sarah Pfisterer for Hello, Dolly!
Best Supporting Actress: Maureen Brennan for Mame
Best Supporting Actor: R. Glen Michell for Mame and La Cage aux Folles
Most Promising Performance by a Child Actor: Troy Costa for Mame
Best Director: Worth Howe for Hello, Dolly!
Best Director: David Scala for La Cage aux Folles
Best Choreography: Susan Chebookjian for Hello, Dolly!
Best Choreography: David Scala for La Cage aux Folles
Best Music Director: Dan Rodriguez and Jeffrey P. Leonard for Hello, Dolly! and La Cage aux Folles
Best Musical: Hello, Dolly!
Best Musical: La Cage aux Folles

Winners will be selected and subsequently announced by the IRNE panel on April 19 at the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama.  The awards ceremony will commence at 8 p.m. preceded by a reception at 7 p.m.
