Get out your "Boogie Shoes" as Bill Hanney's award winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) presents a New England Regional Theatre Premiere that will leave you with "Night Fever!" SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER The Musical is one high-energy musical featuring all the music from the film, the disco dancing that defined a decade, and those classic '70s fashions that may be better left forgotten! SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER The Musical begins tonight, August 11, and plays thru Sunday, August 23. Press night is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12 at 7:30 pm.

"I was very excited to have the opportunity to be one of the first regional theatres to produce this newly rewritten stage version of Saturday Night Fever," said NSMT owner and producer Bill Hanney. "We will be working directly with the writers to help form a new show that will have a long life including an upcoming national tour and a Broadway revival."

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER The Musical is musical adaptation of the '70s classic film based on Nik Cohn's 1975 New York Magazine article "Tribal Rites of the New Saturday Night" and Norman Wexler's 1977 film. The story of a talented, streetwise kid from Brooklyn who attempts to escape his dead-end life through dancing features music by the Bee Gees. Songs. Songs include "Stayin' Alive," "Boogie Shoes," "Disco Inferno," "If I Can't Have You," "Night Fever," "You Should Be Dancing," and "How Deep Is Your Love."

Almost all of the songs from the original movie sound track are included in SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER The Musical. The album remained 24 weeks on the top of the U.S. album charts and stayed until March 1980 on the charts. In the UK, the album also achieved first place for 18 weeks and it is one of the most successful movie sound tracks of all time. In 1979 it won a Grammy as Album of the Year. In 2003 it reached # 131 of Rolling Stone's "500 best albums of all time".

The cast of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER The Musical will be led by Sam Wolf playing the iconic 1977 film role of Tony Manero made famous by John Travolta. The show also features Tessa Grady (Stephanie Mangano), James LaRosa (Gus), Pat McRoberts (Monty), Joe Moeller (Double J), Matthew Rodin (Bobby C), Haley Swindal (Candy), Cary Tedder (Joey, u/s Tony), and Kirstin Tucker (Annette).

The 23 member cast also includes Andres Acosta (Gabriel), Sissy Bell (Doreen), Christopher DeAngelis (Mr. Fusco, Jay), Jovan Dansberry, Ray DeMattis (Frank Manero), Briana Fallon (Connie), Tripp Hampton, Scarlett Keene-Connole, Michelle Marmolejo, NaTonia Monet, Bronson Norris Murphy (Frank Jr.), Ellen Peterson (Flo Manero), Gabriella Sorrentino, and Audrey Tesserot (Pauline).

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER The Musical will be directed by Richard Stafford and choreographed by Nick Kenkel. The creative team also includes Milton Granger (Music Direction), Michael P. Kramer (Scenic Design), Paula Peasley-Ninestein (Costume Designer), Kirk Bookman (Lighting Design), Leon Rothenberg (Sound Design), Gerard Kelly (Wig Design), John Godbout (Production Stage Manager), Rachel Policare (Assistant Stage Manager), Joseph Mohan (Assistant Music Director), and Binder Casting (Casting). SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER The Musical is produced for North Shore Music Theatre by Bill Hanney (Owner/Producer), Kevin P. Hill (Artistic Director), and Tom Amos (Associate Producer).

The 2015 Musical Season continues with Billy Elliot The Musical (September 29 - October 11), Sister Act (November 3 - 15), and concludes with 25th Annual Production of A Christmas Carol (December 4 - 23), starring David Coffee as Ebenezer Scrooge.

The 2015 Concert Series continues with On The Magic Carpet with Barbara Eden (August 28 at 7:30pm), Linda Eder (August 29 at 8pm), and Harvey Robbins' Royalty of Rock 'n' Roll (August 30 at 2pm) The Fab Four (September 11 at 8pm), and Doo-Wopp Hall of Fame (October 18 at 2pm).

The 2015 Summer Fairytale Musical Series continues with Pinocchio (July 31) and Sleeping Beauty (August 21). Performances are Fridays at 10am and 1pm. All tickets are $12. All shows are presented by Kaleidoscope Children's Theatre.
