MacRae, Nathan, David Create 'Disorder' at BSC

A number of Broadway veterans will star in Disorder: A Mother-Daughter Vaudeville, which will be presented as part of Barrington Stage Company's inaugural Musical Theatre Lab Season (of which William Finn is the Artistic Producer) from August 17th through 27th at the Berkshire Athenaeum (1 Wendell Avenue) in Pittsfield, MA.

"What happens when you come home to a mess and Mom can't find your Dad's urn of ashes?  You get Disorder: A Mother-Daughter Vaudeville, where an excavation unearths a colorful past and chaos ensues," as the show is described in press notes.  Directed by Jack Cummings III, Disorder features an original book by Katie Baldwin, with music Gihieh Lee, and lyrics by Julianne Wick Davis and Katie Baldwin.  The show will star Heather MacRae (Falsettos, Hair), Anne L. Nathan (Assassins, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Ragtime) and Clifford David (the original casts of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever, Wildcat, 1776).
 
The design team for Disorder… includes Brian Prather (scenic design), Guy Lee Bailey (costumes), and D. Benjamin Courtney (lighting design). The musical director is Julianne Wick Davis.
 
Disorder director Jack Cummings III is co-Artistic Director of Transport Group, a New York based theatre company devoted to 20th and 21st Century American plays and musicals.  Transport Group credits include The Audience, which he conceived, (3 Drama Desk Award nominations including Outstanding New Musical and Outstanding Director), First Lady Suite (2 Drama Desk Award nominations including Outstanding Revival of a Musical), cul-de-sac, Normal, Requiem for William and Our Town. 

"Barrington Stage Company, a professional award-winning Equity theatre, located in the heart of the Berkshires, in Pittsfield, MA, was co-founded in 1995 by artistic director Julianne Boyd.  BSC's mission is three-fold - to present top-notch, compelling work; to develop new plays and musicals; and to find fresh, bold ways to bringing new audiences into the theatre.  BSC garnered national attention with William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin's Tony Award-winning musical hit The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, which began as a workshop at BSC in February, 2004, was produced in its world premiere to critical acclaim that summer season, prior to taking New York by storm at Second Stage Theatre and later transferring to Broadway's Circle-in-the-Square Theatre where it is currently running."
 
Ticket prices are $25 and $30. Tickets are $12 for the first two performances August 17 and 18.  With the exception of the first week schedule Thursday, August 17 through Sunday, August 20, Musical Theatre Lab performances are Wednesday through Sunday at 7:30pm with matinees Sunday at 3pm, and take place at the Berkshire Athenaeum.
