French soprano Natalie Dessay is one of the biggest stars of today's operatic world, thrilling audiences as both a singer and an actress in her dramatic portrayal of some of the most well-known heroines in the genre. The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1936 by Bronislaw Huberman and its inaugural concert, on December 26, 1936, was conducted by Arturo Toscanini. In 1968 Maestro Zubin Mehta was appointed Music Advisor to the IPO and in 1977 he became its Music Director. Last seen in Boston in 1998, The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 in C minor.

An artist known for his musical integrity, technical assurance and intelligent, compelling interpretations, Christian Tetzlaff is internationally recognized as one of the most important violinists performing today.
