The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1936 by Bronislaw Huberman and its inaugural concert, on December 26, 1936, was conducted by Arturo Toscanini. In 1968 Maestro Zubin Mehta was appointed Music Advisor to the IPO and in 1977 he became its Music Director. Last seen in Boston in 1998, The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 in C minor.

An artist known for his musical integrity, technical assurance and intelligent, compelling interpretations, Christian Tetzlaff is internationally recognized as one of the most important violinists performing today. Named "Instrumentalist of the Year" in 2005 by Musical America, Tetzlaff is in demand as a recitalist and soloist around the world.

German concert pianist Lars Vogt has rapidly established himself as one of the leading pianists of his generation. A keen chamber musician, Lars Vogt performs recitals and chamber projects internationally. Program will include works by Mozart, Bart?k, Webern, and Beethoven.
