Folk Music Quartet Le Vent du Nord Coming to The Colonial Theatre, 5/26

By:

Berkshire Theatre Group presents Quebec folk music quartet Le Vent du Nord on Thursday, May 26 at 8pm, as part of the On the Stage Series at The Colonial Theatre.

Tickets to Le Vent du Nord are $35. Contact the Colonial Ticket Office at 111 South Street, Pittsfield by calling 413-997-4444, or online at www.berkshiretheatregroup.org. The Ticket Office is open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm, Saturdays 10am-2pm or on any performance day from 10am until curtain.

Considered a driving force in progressive folk, Quebec's Le Vent du Nord is blazing a path that connects their roots to the wider world. On stage, these four friends achieve peaks of happiness that they eagerly share with their audiences. Winning critical acclaim and audience adoration across the country, the quartet has earned several prestigious awards including two Juno's and a Canadian Folk Music Award. The group has a rich and varied instrumentation, well-polished musical arrangements, and wonderful vocals. They have collaborated and performed with Harry Manx, Väsen, The Chieftains, Breton musical pioneer Yann-Fañch Kemener, Québecois roots legend and master storyteller Michel Faubert, hip Scottish folk band Breabach, and the trans-Mediterranean ensemble Constantinople. The group's current line-up consists of: singers / multi-instrumentalists Nicolas Boulerice, Simon Beaudry, Olivier Demers and Réjean Brunet.

"Featuring button accordion, guitar and fiddle, the band's sound is defined by the hurdy-gurdy, which adds an earthy, rough-hewn flavor to even the most buoyant dance tunes." -Boston Herald

The On the Stage Series features audience and artist on stage together in an intimate setting with limited seating. Seating is general admission.
