The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will present an abbreviated version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast on stage in front of The School at 38 Main Street during the Franklin Harvest Festival on October 2nd. Show times are 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Families throughout the community are invited to come and enjoy this free event!

The Beauty and the Beast performances will feature musical numbers with narration and short scenes from the popular Disney Broadway show. A professional band made up of FSPA music faculty will accompany leads from the show in full costume. Beauty and the Beast was presented in its entirety by the FSPA SummerStage program in August.
Following each performance, families are invited inside The School for a meet and greet with the performers. They include Melissa Mandia of Franklin as Belle, Michael Egan of Hopkinton as The Beast, Ali Funkhouser of Franklin as Lumiere, Samantha Millette of Norfolk as Mrs. Potts, Giovanna Ferri of Franklin as Cogsworth, Julie Wiles of Medway as Madame de la Grand Bouche, Lucas Melfi of Franklin as Gaston, Jenna McDermott of Wrentham as LeFou, Lindsay Tomas of Wrentham as Babette, and Jocelyn Jones of Franklin as Monsieur d'Arque.

The public is also invited to tour The School, meet members of the faculty and staff, and learn more about FSPA's programs in Music, Dance and Drama. FSPA offers programs for those interested in serious study and those who are interested in the arts for recreation. Registration is ongoing throughout the school year and beginners are welcome!

The Music Department offers private voice lessons, group voice classes, instrumental instruction and ensembles, and classes for young children. Little Music School, exclusive to FSPA, is an innovative music program that teaches children as young as 18 months to play the piano and explore the musical world around them.

The FSPA Dance Department includes many options in ballet, featuring both a Conservatory Pointe Program and Demi-Pointe Track with opportunities for teens to begin ballet in class with their peers. FSPA offers professional instruction in Tap, Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop with classes for all-boys and adults. The School's Drama Department offers a complete curriculum in acting and musical theater with performing ensembles by audition for grades 5-12.
