Carol O'Shaughnessy Comes To The Turtle Lane Playhouse 10/22-23

Carol O'Shaughnessy, the comedic and vocal powerhouse that defines her as a world-class, Boston-based performance artist, will cross into a new dimension of sight and sound in the debut of her brand-new, career-induced, self-titled variety retrospective, The Carol O'Shaughnessy Show, at the Turtle Lane Playhouse. Carol will be accompanied by her Music Director Tom LaMark and will be backed by the majestic sounds of an eight piece orchestra that bears his name.

October 22 and 23, 2010 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.00 premium seating, $23.00 regular seating and are available at the box office, on the Web at turtlelane.org or via telephone at 617-244-0169.

About Carol O'Shaughnessy

Dubbed Boston's First Lady of Cabaret, Carol O'Shaughnessy earned the city's Cabaret Entertainer of the Year designation for appearances at Jordan Hall, The Regattabar, Scullers and New York City's Town Hall.

Carol's one-woman shows Stuff In The Box, Provincetown The Early Years and Ring-a-Ding-Ding: The Music of the Rat Pack were named Top 10 Best Cabaret Shows for 2002 and 2003 respectively. She has three similarly titled CDs which have received rave reviews. Carol also was nominated by the Independent Reviewers of New England as Best Female Cabaret Entertainer 2004.
Carol has appeared with legends of the stage and screen including Joan Rivers, Jennifer Holiday, David Brenner and Pat Cooper and is a popular featured opening performer for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame great Herb Reed and The Platters.

Carol is an accomplished actress and has performed as Matron Mama Morton in the Worcester Foothills Theatre productions of Chicago, directed by Susan Streeter. O'Shaughnessy cruised with RSVP Travel on the Star Clipper to the Mediterranean, as well as a riverboat cruise the summer of 2009 to Budapest, Vienna and Prague.
