ArtsBoston Launches ARTventurous Kids' Programming This Spring

By:

ArtsBoston announced today the official launch of Get ARTventurous (www.artsboston.org/adventure) offering over 10,000 half-price tickets to more than 50 of the region's most beloved spring performances for kids and teens, fun activities in partnership with BostonCentral, and an exclusive opportunity to enter-to-win a VIP Experience with the world premier Broadway musical Tuck Everlasting presented by Lexus Broadway In Boston. Get ARTventurous runs March 20 - April 30, 2013.

"The start of spring marks a perfect time to set off on some amazing arts adventures," said Catherine Peterson, Executive Director of ArtsBoston. "Our region is rich with cultural offerings that will inspire, entertain and educate your kids including local favorites like Blue Man Group and Puppet Showplace Theatre, inspirational leading ladies like Winnie, Pippi and Millie, and enough musical numbers to keep you singing and dancing until the daffodils bloom. And because the half-price deals are powered by nonprofit BosTix, every dollar spent gets reinvested back into the local arts community helping sustain arts programming year-round."

The kid-friendly shows being offered at half-price include Big Apple Circus, Lengendarium on City Hall Plaza starting March 26th, the return of the two-time Emmy Award winning and two-time Tony Award nominated production Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan at the Citi Wang Theatre and the iconic Pippi Longstocking presented by Wheelock Family Theatre.

In addition, Get ARTventurous includes great deals for thought provoking and highly entertaining performances perfect for teens including The Hypocrites' award-winning Chicago production Pirates of Penzance presented by American Repertory Theater and Qui Nguyen's "quirky homage to the nerd in all of us", She Kills Monsters presented by Company One.

In anticipation of the world premier Broadway musical Tuck Everlasting presented by Lexus Broadway In Boston this summer, families can enter-to-win an exclusive VIP experience including tickets to the performance at the Citi Emerson Colonial Theatre, meet and greet with the cast post-show, a one night stay for family of four at the Hyatt Regency Boston and dinner for four at Salvatore's in the Theatre District. Enter to win and review the official rules at www.artsboston.org/adventure.

The half-price ticket quantities are limited, and allotments change daily, so the public is encouraged to visit early and often. The site also includes additional fun activities in arts and crafts, and at museums, zoos and aquariums selected by BostonCentral. Follow @artsboston on Twitter (#artventurous) and on Facebook for special offers and new performance dates and shows.
