Apollinaire Theatre Company Stages FROM WHITE PLAINS, Now thru 12/14

Apollinaire Theatre Company presents From White Plains by by Michael Perlman, in Collaboration with Craig Wesley Divino, Karl Gregory, Jimmy King and Aaron Rossinil. Just because it gets better, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

After a shocking announcement on international television, 30 year old Ethan Rice finds himself finally having to confront who he was and whom he hurt as a teenager. The story follows four men, both gay and straight, as they attempt to take responsibility for their past and move beyond it, aided and complicated by social media and viral videos. The play examines how male relationships change as boys grow into men, and asks who gets to speak for a victim of bullying when he is no longer here to speak for himself.

From White Plains was premiered by Fault Line Theatre at La Tea Theatre, and moved to The Studio Theatre at Pershing Square Signature Center in New York City. It was the winner of the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Off-Off-Broadway Production and has been nominated for three New York Innovative Theatre Awards.

Performances of From White Plains are tonight, November 15-December 14, 2013, running Fri. & Sat. at 8:00, Sun. Dec. 1 & 8 at 3:00. Michael Perlman is a NYC based director and playwright who earned his MFA in Directing from the Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Directing Program. He won the Motif Award for Best Director for Hamlet at Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Program and his one-person show Flying on the Wing was presented at the New York Fringe Festival, where it was the winner of Outstanding Solo Show of 2006. Michael is proud to be a member of SDC and a Drama League Directing Fellow.
