The Tony® Award winner for Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, will play the Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre in Boston October 18-23, 2016 in its First National Tour. Gentleman's Guide stars John Rapson as the eight D'Ysquith heirs and Kevin Massey as Monty Navarro. The tour featuresKristen Beth Williams (Sibella Hallward), Kristen Hahn (Phoebe D'Ysquith), and Mary VanArsdel (Miss Shingle).The national tour also features Christopher Behmke, Sarah Ellis, Matt Leisy, Dani Marcus, Kristen Mengelkoch, David Scott Purdy, Chuck Ragsdale, Ben Roseberry, Jennifer Smith, and Catherine Walker.

Gentleman's Guide tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession, by any means necessary. All the while, he's got to juggle his mistress (she's after more than just love), his fiancée (she's his cousin but who's keeping track?), and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance... and be done in time for tea.

The First National Tour recently celebrated its one year anniversary in St. Louis. In addition to Boston, Gentleman's Guide will play Greenville, SC; Detroit, MI; Hartford, CT; Hershey, PA; Wilmington, DE; Charlotte, NC; Providence, RI; East Lansing, MI; Baltimore, MD; Cincinnati, OH; Fayetteville, AR; Naples, FL; Nashville, TN; Orlando, FL; Buffalo, NY; Costa Mesa, CA; and Sacramento, CA.

The most celebrated musical of the 2013-14 Broadway season, Gentleman's Guide received ten 2014 Tony® Award nominations, eventually winning four awards: Best Musical, Direction of a Musical, Book of a Musical, and Best Costume Design. In addition, it won the Best Musical prizes from the Drama League, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle, and received a 2015 Grammy® Award nomination for Best Musical Show Album.

A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder features a book and lyrics by Robert L. Freedman and music and lyrics bySteven Lutvak. Direction is by Darko Tresnjak, with choreography by Peggy Hickey. The design team includesAlexander Dodge (Scenic Design), Linda Cho (Costume Design), Philip S. Rosenberg (Lighting Design), Dan Moses Schreier (Sound Design), Aaron Rhyne (Projections Design), Brian Strumwasser (Make-Up Design), andCharles LaPointe (Wig Design). Orchestrations are by Jonathan Tunick and Vocal Arrangements are by DiAnne Adams McDowell and Steven Lutvak. Paul Staroba serves as Music Supervisor.

Critics across the country are raving about Gentleman's Guide, hailed as "one of the best new Broadway musicals in years" by Time Out Chicago. The New York Times raved "Gentleman's Guide will lift the hearts of all those who've been pining for what sometimes seems a lost art form." The San Francisco Chronicle applauded Gentleman's Guide as "one delight after another," and the Hollywood Reporter enthused Gentleman's Guide "restores our faith in musical comedy!"

Gentleman's Guide will play at the Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre, 265 Tremont St., Boston, Tuesday, October 18 - Sunday, October 23, 2016, for 8 performances: Tuesday through Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm (except Wednesday, October 19, 7:00 pm); Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm; Sunday at 6:30 pm; and afternoon matinees at 2:00 pm Saturday and at 1:00 pmon Sunday.
