2nd Story Theatre presents 'The Butterfingers Angel'

2nd StoryTheatre will present The Butterfingers Angel, Mary & Joseph, Herod the Nut, & the Slaughter of 12 Hit Carols in a Pear Tree, A Christmas Entertainment, by William Gibson, which opens November 23 and runs through December 16.

Butterfingers Angel is a retelling of the Christmas story complete with a tenacious Mary, a bumbling Angel, a malevolent one, and precocious stable animals sure to melt the heart this holiday season.

Mary is young, headstrong, and determined to escape her stuck-in-the-mud life. Babies and marriage are not in her plans until a clumsy Angel shows up and makes a certain announcement.With a mission to accomplish, Mary rounds up Joseph and the three set off on the amazing journey to Bethlehem.Unknowingly outwitting the wicked Man in Grey, a.k.a Herod, the trio discovers that love is truly the answer. With a dozen favorite carols, Butterfingers Angel is filled with the joyous spirit of the holiday.

"It's a sophisticated homage to the old-fashioned Christmas pageant. The set and costumes will reflect the traditional pageant and then break free, turn it on its head, and flip back again", said director Ed Shea in a recent press release.
