I'm thrilled that I got my N2N cast recording autographed last week...but am wondering...what did Alice write? It's a beautiful signature, but it's more of a graffiti like drawing than a signiture. Anyone have any clues?

Um, how would we know what she wrote? Are we supposed to divine what it looks like? You didn't include a picture.

I'm sorry....but I don't have the c/d with me, but I certainly understand your question. I thought maybe other fans had gotten her to sign their c/d and found it to not appear like your standard autograph. I thought it was possible that someone close to the show knew the story and could shed some "light"...as it were. I thought that maybe she was signing in a way that was somehow influenced by Diana Goodman.

When she signed my Playbill at the Stage Door, she signed ALICE R in big bubble letters, much like the picture TheActr97J just posted. I think it's neat!
She's started signing playbills and such in bubble letters. When my friend and I went to see Next to Normal, we asked her why she had decided to start signing things in bubble letters, she said that after years of signing playbills, she could barely read her own signature anymore and decided it was time for a change. She signs things in bubble letters to make her signature more legible. I personally think it's adorable! She's such a sweetheart.
'When we asked her why she signed in bubble letters, she told us that it was so she could spend more time with each fan.'
That is so cute! Gotta love Alice.

She also said she got bored of "scribble"--- it was really funny !!! But it WAS adorable when she said she uses the "bubble" letters to spend more time speaking with fans of the show.
this kinda makes me want her to win the tony, which she probably will anyway.

I personally love the way she signed my Playbill from 2nd Stage. That Playbill had those random peoples' legs dangling over a dock. She circled a pair of legs, and wrote the following underneath it: "THESE ARE NOT MY LEGS. A. RIPLEY." Updated On: 5/19/09 at 06:36 PM
I have 2 playbills from Second Stage with her actual signature on them (the second one was not planned...Tom Kitt had come into the lobby and had signed it, then just passed it to Alice before I could say anything and it would have been awkward). Hee!
My windowcard from there has her signature (granted it's in blue sharpie on the blue section of the card, so it's not the easiest thing to see except for the extremes of the letters) and then bubble letters of "these are not my legs" because I asked her if I could bring it back for that and she laughed and said "of course!"
Hee!

Alice is far from crazy...she's fierce! She is such a personable person, and truly loves about her fans. I love how she changes her signature every once and while. When I got her signature (about 2 yrs ago) she signed it A. Ripley and actually signed it to me. So that was nice.
I can't wait for her to take the Tony and to see what she wears!
I looked at the autograph yesterday when I got home and finally can see how it says RIPLEY...I think she's wonderful and can't wait for her to win the Tony Award. She was so nice at the c/d signing as well. After she signed her autograph, she looked up and said something very nice to me...something that I would have never expected a big star like her to say. I was so elated I almost fainted when I got outside!
