As was Gallagher....but Bashoff will always be my favorite: just a little over Gallagher but by leaps and bounds over Gerard.

I liked Lea and really love her work but Alexandra was far superior IMO.
Agree with this, definitely. I saw Alexandra one evening when Lea was still with the show, but out. Lea has a great voice (love her tone in "Mama Who Bore Me"), but Alexandra brought much more to the role, in my opinion. Her extremely youthful appearance, her acting choices, and her soft voice (really liked her "Whispering") made Wendla's story so much more tragic.
Socha? Not to my knowledge...I'd seen her plenty of times and she never had....but that was earlier in her run...so who knows.

Lea use to wear one quite frequently. She claimed her hair was getting damaged.
I never knew Socha to wear one...but I haven't seen the show since August.

I give Gerard Canonico a lot of credit for his loyalty to the show. It must have been difficult for him to sit on the onstage seats with the audience every performance for almost two years, only participating in the show at those odd moments. I know he was thrilled to finally get his chance to play one of the leads, even if it turned out to be only for a few months. I didn't see anybody mention Hunter Parrish in this thread. I know he was never an understudy, but he sure impressed me. I loved the final cast and at times thought maybe they were better than the original cast.
I thought Hunter was great (not as good as Matt but...) I'm pretty sure he's a baritone, because it sounded strained when he was hitting the high notes. He hit them, and they didn't crack or anything, but he only got on them for a minute and got off.
As for Gerard, I'm amazed that so many people disliked him. Has anyone seen him recently? (I saw him at the end of November) Maybe he's grown into the role more? He was my favorite part of the show, like I already said.
i saw gerard in november..he was good..i was not that impressed...Blake definitly is miles and miles ahead...and btw...Groff and Kyle are SO much better than Hunter
I actually thought Kyle was dreadful. Beautiful falsetto, but horrid actor. I haven't been to the show since right after Bashoff left in early August, so I haven't seen Parrish. I've heard very mixed things.

I thought Kyle was absolutely awful as well. Very nice voice, but his acting was AWFUL.
Hunter's acting was fantastic (probably the best of any of them), but his singing was strained on the higher songs. Consequently, my favorite song in the show, Left Behind, falls flat when Hunter sings it.
Overall, the best is still Jonathan. I never got to see Matt Shingledecker, however.
