Generally they are alright-

When I got hiptix for Studio 54 (The Ritz, and Sundays in the Park) the tix were about half way up the mezannine- but the show wasnt sold out, so I moved down. The original seats were not horrible though! Half way up, but center.

When I got hiptix for AA Theatre(Pygmalion) Once again they were high in the mezz, but good center seats. Really enjoyed them all for only $20!

And cant wait to enjoy Pal Joey next week!

I understand that membership is for 18-35 year old.

I had purchased two tickets. I want to bring a friend, who by appearance is clearly over 35. My question is, is there an age restriction for my guest?

HIPTIX are all located in the Rear Mezzanine. I wish they would just say that on their website instead of giving people the impression that the seats could be anywhere.

Plus, they are $21.50, NOT $20.00, as they market it to be. Not a big difference, but I wish they would just say the right amount.

No, Linda -- they'll check only your ID when you pick them up. My bf has used my second ticket, and he's just a few years over the max.

Linda, your guest can be any age.

Thanks everyone, that's helpful to know. How embarassing would I be if my friend gets turned away. I suppose worst case scenario is we just end up paying full price for her ticket.

Foster. I've never paid $21.50 for a HIPTIX ticket.

And, after doing some poking around, it looks like you haven't ever either.

Where do you pay the extra $1.50?

Excuse me?

I paid $21.50 for my PAL JOEY ticket and my HEDDA GABLER ticket.

I believe the $1.50 restoration charge only applies to the American Airlines Theatre, I don't remember it being tacked on for the Studio 54 or Laura Pels shows, but I could have just not been paying attention, lol.

They have also just started the Hiptix Gold program. With a $75 tax deductible contribution you are ensured orchestra seating and a couple other perks beyond the normal program.

My tickets have been all over the place, depending on when I've ordered them. Sunday in the Park I ordered a couple weeks in advance and was in the first row of the upper mezzanine. Pal Joey I ordered on the day of the performance and was in the last row of the upper mezzanine. Of course, this was the Saturday before Christmas, and the show looked to be pretty well sold, at least in the mezzanine, so I guess I was lucky to get even that at the last minute.

There is no "restoration charge." Roundabout owns both houses.

It's just an excuse for Roundabout to add on more money.

And yes, it applies to all of their theatres.

Also, HIPTIX Gold guarantees an Orchestra or Front Mezzanine seat. Not guaranteed Orchestra.

Their website is misleading. It is a great deal, though.

Technically if you buy 2 hiptix tickets both are suppose to be between the ages of 18-35. Sometimes the box office may not check the IDs. Only if you are a Hiptix Gold member can a guest be any age.

You can still have a restoration charge when you own the house. The money to do the initial restoration and then upkeep it has to come from somewhere.

My information on the Gold program came from their website. It's a shame they post misleading information there concerning the seating. Though I honestly would prefer front mezzanine over orchestra anyway. Now if only I had an extra $75 to throw to them, lol.

I paid $21.50 for Pal Joey this Wed matinee. That price is printed right on the ticket.

I am confused about the "guest" ticket, however. The first time I used Hiptix this summer, my friend and I linked our accounts together (we are both members). Therefore when he called up to order we could get two tickets together under both our accounts. I was under the impression it was one ticket per member per performance.

That was changed last season.

It is now two tickets per account.

Do you need to bring anything to the box office when buying Hiptix? I sigend up a long time ago but have yet to use it and I was hoping to get tickets for Distracted today.

When I ordered my Godot tix using Hiptix, they just asked for my name and address, and it should be stored in the system when they look up Hiptix members. I'm pretty sure that's all you need.

John,
I went to box office months after signing up for Hiptix, but they had no record of signing up. re: When you use Hiptix... However, they easily registered me on the spot. I think I recalled that they asked for my driver's license.
Thanks for the reminder, still have to get tickets for WFG and Distracted. :)

I saw Pal Joey with a friend about 3 weeks ago through hiptix. My tickets were $20 each, but they needed to see proof of age for both of us when we picked up the tickets.

They didn't check my ID when I ordered through hiptix. I literally gave them the printout and that's it.

They've never ID me either. I just give them my "hiptix" number, and that's it. But maybe that's because I gave them my account info already?

Hey, if my daughter is a Hiptix member, can she take me (her mom)? And does it matter whether she's regular Hiptix or Hiptix Gold? Thanks to anybody who knows the answer!

When I called and ordered my Birdie Hiptix, the operator said both my guest and I should be prepared to show ID.

Maybe it's a new policy for the new theatre? It would make sense since the next cheapest seat after Hiptix is over $80.
