An event!?!?! She's known about this for months but decides to go to an event instead of the final performance of a show she helped create.
Edit: The OBC are like the pope of Rent. Do you not remember when A&A came back.

Posted: 9/7/08 at 10:51pmI agree about Adam. Anthony flies in from Pittsburgh and Adam can't be bothered because he "gave away his ticket"? Like he couldn't hang backstage? They all should have been there if at all possible. They owe their careers to that show, and at least Jesse and Anthony, who have done more than all of the others (except maybe Taye), respect that and show up to honor Jonathan's memory.

Idina is on her way to London. She will be appearing at Andrew Lloyd Webber's 60th Birthday Party this week.
Remember this wasn't the original closing date so people might have scheduled other engagements.

Posted: 9/7/08 at 11:08pmI'm sure if Adam wanted to go, they would allowed him backstage. I think it is nice that if he didn't want to go/ couldn't go that he gave his ticket to fan.
So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

It's fascinating for me to actually fathom that RENT has closed. As I reflect back on it, I have come to realize that for me it has perfectly represented a time period (the 90s) in a way that I have not seen paralleled. Like all things that are quality, it has/and will stand the test of time. Just as the classic sitcom "Roseanne: perfectly embodied the 80s for the middleclass, RENT has done the same for artists during the 90s. Similarily "Roseanne" ended her 9 year run with these famous words from a Walt Whitman poem, and I feel it is only appropriate to revisit them again tonite. "Into that good night I go..."
R.I.P. RENT (The heart may freeze, or it may burn, there is no future, there is past, i live this moment as my last...)
