When I saw “Waitress” last month, I stagedoored, and took pics with Drew and talked with him for a few mins, and we chatted a bit about his projects. He confirmed to me that “Roman Holiday” is dead and not moving forward, and that his next Show was “Almost Famous”, and that the show WOULD be opening up this Spring and that a theatre was already secured, and that an announcement would be forthcoming after the holidays... this made me think its most likely going to the Lyceum after CC ends...? Yes they produced one! I bought one at the theatre last Friday night when I saw the show. It was $25.

RIP Valerie Harper!!! I will never forget your legendary performance @ The Ordway back in 2006 tour of the Tony winning one woman play Goldas Balcony... it was a tour de force, and cemented your acting abilities as in a league of your own! Goldas Balcony remains one of the best plays Ive ever seen in all my theatregoing years... Valerie Harper became Golda Meir, the two were inseparable, and the performance was mesmerizing! Thank you for the memories!!!

I’m stunned and saddened as well! The show was far from perfect, but it was every bit as good as On Your Feet, and was a really fun, campy, nostalgic night at the theatre. SJB was legendary and the costumes were to die for! One thing I do think that doomed this show was the marketing, specifically how little Cher was involved, I’m guessing due to her current tour. IMHO, Cher should have been plugging it left and right, making impromptu curtain call performances, etc. I think the marketing team f

What a great season for plays again!!! Thought this was dead in the water after Steppenwolf, happy that this has been resurrected and will land on a Broadway next spring! The Inheritance, Virginia Woolf, Take Me Out, Tea At Five, and possibly The Lehman Trilogy!

Not that they’d be interested in being a replacement or doing 8 shows a week, but I feel like either Kelly Clarkson or Jennifer Nettles could do blockbuster box office numbers to boost Waitress... but I’m likely dreaming that either would ever commit to doing a limited engagement...
