Riedel on the growing hype for Moulin Rouge! Aug 3
2018, 10:23:44 PM
I completely disagree! It seems like everyone keeps forgetting about “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” the plan was always for “Summer” to open this season, while ATPTB continues to play select engagements (DC, & Toronto) before coming into Broadway next spring... I’ve always believe that “Summer” was merely a placeholder for ATPTB, as the reviews have all suggested it was far more Broadway ready of the two, but that the creative team didn’t want to make “Summer” go head to head against “The Cher Show”.
All Female Glengarry Glen Ross Revival?? Jun 26
2018, 06:36:50 PM
I can’t imagine there being much of an audience for this being that it was just revived in 2005 & 2012...???
2018 TONY Awards Snubs Jun 10

The TONYs telecast is mostly over now... what actors/shows got snubbed tonight?? Curious what others’ thoughts are...
What's Next for Studio 54? May 28
2018, 02:17:01 AM
Is the Sutton Foster led “Sweet Charity” revival still aiming for Broadway?!? Is absolutely love to see it this fall, but I kinda figured that this was dead in the water after not hearing anything about it for months... would a limited engagement of SC be feasible say from October-January, with Sutton’s ‘Younger’ filming schedule?
Any Upcoming Musical Revivals? May 4
2018, 08:43:46 PM
Dreamgirls and the London revival of 42nd Street have both been eyeing a Broadway transfer, as has the acclaimed Japanese production of Titanic...
3 Tall Women Extending?? May 3
2018, 10:36:36 PM
Does anyone think there’s a slight chance of 3TW extending past 6/24, especially if/when Glenda Jackson wins the Tony Award? The play’s grosses are doing remarkably well, and I can’t believe Once summer tourism starts, that 3TW wouldn’t do well until at least Labor Day (i.e. “A Doll’s House”...). I don’t know if Roseanne taping would prevent Laurie Metcalf from extending past the 24th... but no show has been announced yet to open up immediately after 3TW yet... thoughts?
Once On This Island Sunday 5/20??? May 2
2018, 03:26:48 PM
I’m planning to come to the city and see a bunch of shows 5/17-5/21, and I was banking on getting to see OOTI on the Sunday 7:30pm performance, but much to my dismay, it looks like for some strange reason there’s no performance that night?!? Does anyone know why there’s not? Their usual schedule is 2 shows on Sundays, and that week, they’re only performing 7 shows...? I’m super bummed out!
Who is closing post tony nominations? Apr 29
2018, 01:54:50 PM
Children of A Lesser God may also not be able to finish at run... yes it’s at a non-profit subscriber house... but those grosses are awful
Three Tall Women Actors Fund Apr 29
2018, 11:32:59 AM
I’ll be in town that week, and am very interested in that midnight show, but am worried about Glenda Jackson, Allison Pill, and Laurie Metcalf not performing it. I could easily see them doing the 7:30 performance, and then leaving, and letting their understudies do the midnight show... is there any way to find out if any of them plan on doing the Actir’s Fund performance in advance?
CURSED CHILD Reviews Apr 23

Wondering what opinions are regarding the TONY Awards after tonight’s reviews.. is this a lock for Best new play and for design, lighting, and sound?
Love Never Dies Broadway 2019?? Apr 17
2018, 08:10:01 AM
https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Rialto-Chatter-Is-LOVE-NEVER-DIES-Headed-to-Broadway-20180417
Looks like Phantom: Love Never Dies May indeed finally be making its way to Broadway sometime in 2019 for a limited engagement... my guess is that School of Rock closes by Labor Day or the end of the year at the latest, and this ends up taking the Winter Garden next spring...
Jesus Christ Superstar 2019 National Tour Apr 5
2018, 11:52:08 AM
Looks like JCS will be embarking on a 50 City National Tour beginning Fall 2019. It will be based on the recent 2017 London production...
Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 1/21/18 Jan 22
2018, 03:30:33 PM
I have a feeling some theatres may soon become available... things aren't looking too good for "The Sponge", "The Island", "The Schoolhouse", and another show may soon be "getting the Boot", if things don't vastly improve...
GROUNDHOG DAY scraps its national tour!?!? Jan 8
2018, 11:55:21 PM
Wow totally did not see this coming, especially considering that many other inferior shows (Bandstand, Great Comet, Bright Star) seem to be getting tours... some even have gone Equity... I'm shocked a non-equity tour group hasn't agreed to produce the tour!
Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 12/31/17 Jan 2
2018, 04:42:40 PM
Damn WICKED!!!! Love that gross!!! Amazing 15 years later, and pre- 2019 film release!! Also, even though I totally despised Charlie... why exactly is it closing with grosses over $2mil?!?!? Spring break and summer vacation are right around the corner...
