"Lovechild" makes it sound like there was love involved. Or at least lovemaking.
He was actually pretty decent in Spamalot when I saw him.

I avoided the show like the plague when he was in it the first time around. I don't see myself being able to do that this time around because Merel is going to be Lady of the Lake and I am looking forward to seeing her performance in the show.

So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?
Being a normal, decent, sane Claymate, I can tell you that it is slow on the boards at this particular moment... I'm sure they will be invading soon.

Everytime an American Idol returns to Broadway a demon gets its wings.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
"His previous run in "Spamalot" had a noticeable effect on box office. Weekly sales for the tuner surged the week Aiken joined the cast and took a steep tumble the frame after he departed. Aiken returns to "Spamalot" Sept. 19-Jan. 4."

i guess he's wanting to become in the same league as Betty Buckly, Ethel Murman, Carol Channing and Patti Lupone

I wish Clay Aiken will play Sir Lancelot. It's just~ he is not that handsome and masculine to do the role-as the role would call for. One of the funniest number in the show is the "His Name is Lancelot" number- that would be a riot if he do that number. I'm totally serious!- no pun intended.. I can really see that number would work better with him than any other stars on Broadway. Though I think that he would be MORE perfect for Prince Herbert role! -- then I MIGHT consider seeing SPAMALOT again!
Jaystarr, Sir Robin is the perfect role for Clay. He couldn't do Lancelot because he can't dance that well, and who would mistake him for a swordsman that kills people?
Have you seen him in the role? If not, you might give him a chance.

SPAMALOT is many things, but it sure as hell isn't A CHORUS LINE. The dancing for these roles (at least, these leads) is far from hindering when it comes to taking a role, nor is Hank Azaria, who originated the role, a naturally gifted dancer.
Also, why does it matter if people would or would not "mistake him for a swordsman that kills people"? It's called acting. I doubt most people would mistake him for a guy who soils himself and plays the piano while singing about the necessity of Jewish people in musical theatre, but that doesn't seem to be stopping him. No. I just saw SPAMALOT last Saturday! My second time.. I saw the original cast w/o Tim Curry (he was out) I did not like Drew Lachey & Stephen Collins. I heard good things about Clay Aiken! Yeah! I wish I saw it with Clay Aiken. Unfortunately I wont be revisting anymore long running shows..after last week's SPAMALOT and last June's ReNT! It was a disaster to see a 5th generation to later cast!
Also Clay might be good, but SPAMALOT is an ensemble show! I also did not like the actors that played Sirs Lancelot & Galahad too, so with Marin Mazzie (considering I love her at RAGTIME & KISS ME KATE) - her Lady of the Lake was just awful and not funny at all! (unlike Sara Ramirez)
Drew Lachey is in Spamalot right now? Oh dear Lord.
yeah... I saw it last Saturday but did not post my usual 10/10 Report, as I said in another thread~I have nothing good to say! that's why I just did not post! though I posted this..
