I didn't say anything about talent or level of success, but like it or not, Britney is (was) successful.

Posted: 2/5/08 at 7:48pmI can't make that comparison but I've got to admit that when I read about her being taken away this last time that I had visions of Frances Farmer. Most of you are far too young to remember her but a few might have seen the film "Frances" with Jessica Lange. I've been among the first who've criticized this girl repeatedly but this time it all seemed to hit a nerve and I felt very, very sad for her.

Judy Garland was a star of radio, film, television and concerts for almost 40 years before she died at 47.
Britney Spears has been a "star" for 15 years.
Bring up this thread in another quarter century, and we'll see if they compare.
