Why didn't Mel use the theme from the original film with the violin in the new show? I loved it.

He probably didn't want to pay Morris royalties.

I was wondering the same thing but the song Life, Life from the show sounds similar to the violin theme, and also Frederick's Soliloquy

JKlock, that's the point.

I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky

The violin theme is "Life, Life." He uses that same melody as "Frederick's Soliloquy" as kind of a brief reprise of "Life, Life."
