"Nathan Lane- The Wizard of Oz- Wicked Anne Hathaway- Elphaba- Wicked OR Cathy- Last Five Years Sherie Rene Scott- Ms.Lovett- Sweeney Todd"
I second these, for sure! There really are a lot of great casting ideas through out the whole thread.
I also have a new idea (although I don't know how accurate it is because I really haven't heard a lot of his singing)! Raymond McLeod sounds like a Mr. Rochester to me.
I did a workshop with her earlier this month at Telsey. Mark my words - you will be seeing her in one of their shows. Think Elle, Amber, Glinda or Maureen. That's what they told her she'd be considered for.
Anne Hathaway- Wendla (Spring Awakening) Kate Shindle- Elphaba... maybe (Wicked) Angela Lansbury- Madame Morrible (Wicked) Annaliese Van Der Pol- Penny (Hairspray) Nathalie Joy Johnson- Tracy (Hairspray) Kristen Bell- Elle (Legally Blonde) Annaleigh Ashford- Amber (Hairspray) Fantasia- Motormouth Mabel ... in a few years (Hairspray) Brandi Massey- Fantine (Les Mis) Annaliese Van Der Pol- Kira (Xanadu) Raul Esparza- Sonny (Xanadu)
Actually, CJR, I would love to see that Bulldog in Legally Blonde play Max Bialystock in The Producers...

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
IF Disney ever makes Hercules into a Broadway show, Lucas Grabeel should play the teenage version of Hercules...He's already shown he can nail I Can Go The Distance. Yeah, it was kinda changed into a more upbeat pop song--But he still took it to school(And the beginning/ending of the song weren't that different).
Also... David Bowie-Zoser in Aida Cillian Murphy-Jekyll/Hyde(the movie)
"I am the Phantom of the Opera! I'm the gayest supervillian ever! OoooOOOooooOOOoooh...Beware of my scented candles...OoooOOOooooh...Scented!"
Kritzer did this online chat four years ago where she answered the 'dream roles' question- she has an awesome wish list-
[RobertArmin] One question I always like to ask is: what are your dream roles? What shows would you most like to do? [RobertArmin] You named West Side Story, what else? [LeslieKritzer] God, Sweet Charity, Gypsy, Guys and Dolls, EVITA OF COURSE!!! [RobertArmin] You want to play God? [LeslieKritzer] Godspell [RobertArmin] (just a joke) [LeslieKritzer] no, [LeslieKritzer] LOLOL [LeslieKritzer] Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar [LeslieKritzer] and then the slew of Sondheim [LeslieKritzer] I mean the list is forever long
Sweet Charity kinda made me go hmm, but I loved her list.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
For some reason I always wanted Jenn Gambatese as Mary Poppins.
Megan Mullally: Glinda in Wicked - I know, she's too old and the only reason we associate her with that character is the high squeeky voice she uses in Will & Grace, but it would be so much fun seeing her do popular "stand up honey, you gotta toss your hair." Oh and whoever said Bette Midler as Madame Morrible deserves an honorable mention too - that one made me laugh!
Christine Baranski (remember her from "Cybill") as the Drowsy Chaperone would be fun too.
Toni Collette would be a fierce Sally Bowles. Would love to see that one. Definitely Colin Mochrie as Man in Chair. Also would love to see Alan Rickman or Jeremy Irons as Dysart in Equus rather than Richard Griffiths.
I just wish Josh Groban would try musical theater. Period.
