Runner Up: "As We Stumble Along" -- but only as performed live on stage. On the CD, it loses a lot of the oomph that makes it so special when Beth is up there doing her thing.
"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

"You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays. I don't know about you, but I'd like to make today worth remembering." --Harold Hill from The Music Man
As far as vocals my, my absolute favorite is "Bride's Lament". Sutton's belt is just astounding, esp. when she says "One two timing cad who drives me APE!"... "ape" gets me every time!
Anyway, my altogether favorite is "Toledo Surprise", mostly because I am from Toledo, OH, the city the song is based off of. Apparently it used to be a big mob town, but I don't really know... Maybe the cast will find it funny that i'm from Toledo when I stage door on Sunday (Nov. 19th) afternoon!!!
I WANT TO MEET SUTTON FOSTER SO BAD!
"The nice thing about the rain is that it always stops... eventually."
"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." - Sherie Rene Scott
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW let me spell it OOOOOOUUUUUUUUUT FOOOOOOOOOR YOOOOOOOOOOOU... for all you lovely ladies that didn't hear for some reason... because maybe you are... hard of hearing or something....
I agree, Zepka. NOW...LET ME SPELL IT OUT FOR JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-DAAAAAAAA-LLLLLL-FFFFFFFFFOOOOO I also love Show Off. At first I loved Bride's Lament, but then all of the cliches really got to me after like the fifteenth time listening to it. The reprise of As We Stumble Along is so cute. I love Bob Martin. Toledo Suprise and ANY song Georgia Engel does really bother me. Ugh.
"I'm thinking about how if you took the W in
answer, and the H in ghost, and the extra A in aardvark, and the T in listen, you could keep saying WHAT but no one would ever hear you because the whole word would be silent."

But I have to admit I'm a sucker for tap numbers and I have a bit of a foot fetish when it comes to songs from Broadway shows. I love "Fabulous Feet" from "The Tap Dance Kid" and "Your Feet's Too Big" from "Ain't Misbavin'."
The set-up for that song by MIC was brilliant. I have no idea how Sutton Foster or Bob Martin can keep from cracking up when the latter begins to sing those diabolical lyrics. Updated On: 11/15/06 at 06:14 PM
