Em, I almost fell into a chair on Sunday. I had to grab the back of the seat to not do so. I did this wierd stumble...but I didn't trip on anything. XD
Shari Lewis: Did you ever wish upon a star?
Lamb Chop: I once asked Mr. Rogers for his autograph.
Wait, I don't remember you tripping Emcee...I usually remember embarassing moments like that...
So, think I can approach Sondheim finally and ask him all about Bernstein?
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
I was concentrating on the orchestral performances today on the way home and it just reminded me of how special this show is. I'm bummed I will never see it again.
" ...the happiness in the tune convinces me that I'm not afraid."
MenzelManiac, I don't know about celebrities, since it is a holiday weekend, but I would think/hope that since this is an evening show, there will be some Broadway people there since it's likely they will be out of their matinees and done for the day.
So hopefully there will be a lot of the Broadway community out there to support the show, along with us!

Sondheim was at the first preview as I sat only a dew seats away from him. He will undoublty be at the last performance as well. I'm pretty sure he goes to the closing performances of all of his shows, at least the last Gypsy revival.
I changed my weekend plans and am flying back a day early just to be there--I'll probably be running to the show straight from the airport with suitcase in hand! =)
teebz, just to let you know. Sweeney's rush only applies on weekdays, and closing is a Sunday. I'm also guessing that this will be one of the few Sweeney showings to sell out, so there might be standing room, but I doubt there will be any good rush seats. :/
"It does what a musical's supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue."
Also, is everyone going to meet at intermission somewhere in the theatre?
"We don't value the lily less for not being made of flint and built to last. Life's bounty is in it's flow, later is too late. Where is the song when it's been sung, the dance when it's been danced? It's only we humans who want to own the future too."
- Tom Stoppard, Shipwreck
I just got into NYC today after driving from FL, have moved all od my stuff into the dorm, and I can't wait until Sunday to finally get back into the swing of things.
I hope to meet some of you!
"I'll cut you, Tracee Beazer!!!!
...Just kidding. I'd never cut anyone." -Tina Maddigan, 9/30/06, WS stage door
