As a good fan of the stage show, I'm still really pissed about the movie's "Happy Ending." As you can see from the pics on that site the intent of the original movie ending was to show the plants taking over the world on a major scale. I think if they would have stayed more true to the stage show by just having Audrey II eat Seymour and Audrey and leaving the rest to imagination the test audience wouldn't have reacted the way they did. Seymour and Audrey had their own motivations for getting eaten....so the plant didn't really kill them in my eyes. In my opinion showing the rest of the world getting viciously eaten for no reason doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the story-line of a boy and his plant. I think Frank Oz made a major mistake. I adore all of the movie but the ending.......Sorry just had to get that out...
