I assume we're not counting church Christmas pageants and the annual show at the elementary school when the kids dress up like turkeys and pilgrims.

But, a very enterprising woman at my elementary school had us GT kids act out a few scenes from A Midsummer Night's Dream, so I guess that counts. I was Oberon. And I was, I guess, 8.

My first Equity gig was WEST SIDE STORY and I was 16. My first non dance recital ever that I recall was a school production of THE WIZARD OF OZ and I played The Scarecrow and I was 7.

The Little Red Hen when I was five (I was offered the role of the Red Hen, but I wanted the Cat instead). My first real musical was Babes in Toyland when I was 10 (I was a gypsy/dancer in the first act and a doll in the second).

A show called The Scarecrows' Christmas in second grade, which was performed at our school's annual holiday thing. I had a lead role, too - I was Stellaluna. Yes, the bat from the kids' book. Don't knock it, I had like three songs. It was a real star turn. :)

Winnie-the-Pooh, when I was 7, playing Christopher Robin. And, got my equity card playing Pooh (many) years later at a theatre less than a mile from where I did it the first time.

When I was 8, I was the title role in "Arlene the Artist Bunny." A little girl asked for my autograph in the supermarket. I felt like this huge star. *flips hair*

I get lost, unless, of course, I'm getting found.

It was either Uncle Joe in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or one of the farm animals in Charlotte's Web. I am not sure which. I was in grade school.

I learned very quickly that my talent was more in the orchestra than on the stage . . .

West Side Story- 15 (The WORST production of WSS I have come across so far)

which is too young for this show. I know Maria is supposed to be a teenager, but most teenagers do not have the emotional depth to play the characters in West Side.

And beyond that, instead of having a fire escape- we had a patio. 2 flights of stairs that led to a large patio deck with astroturf and flowers on it. To this day it is still embarassing, the director should have known better.

The tales of Beatrix Potter... a little podunk musical. In which I played like seven characters. I was seven.
