This is not printed anywhere yet, so I figured I'd be the first to say it:

$20 student rush two hours before show time

Lincoln Center has a student membership (StudenTix) that's free and allows any student under the age of 35 to buy ADVANCE tickets for just $20 a piece. It applies to any production at Lincoln Center Theatre (Beaumont and Mitzi Newhouse) and for any available seat:

My nieces and nephews swear by the LCT StudenTix program.

the StudentTix program only lets you buy one ticket, for yourself (no guest) and you can only see any given production once.

i didnt think theyd have student rush on top of that program tho. thats cool.

Well, you can't beat seeing some of Lincoln Center's very best shows for only $20. I wish I were still a student.

I believe StudenTix allows you to link your ticket request with that of another sudent member, so at least that way if you and a friend (or two) want to go to the same performance, you can get seats together.

What if she's a regular adult member? Membership is only $40 a year and allows you to buy individual tickets for $30 (previews) or $40. I'm a member and when I go online to get my member seats I know that there's an option for me to group my seat selections with those of other members, as long as I have their membership numbers. Not sure if you can group student tix with regular member tix, but you should ask.

The fact that Lincoln Center lets you buy student-price tickets in advance is incredible. I'm not going to complain too much about the fact that you can only get one ticket at at time. Especially since I usually end up going to the theater alone, anyway. :)

I wasn't actually aware that their regular adult membership was so inexpensive. I have FINALLY joined TDF and am seeing Piazze next week. $32.50 a ticket is pretty great (lordy knows where we'll be sitting though!)

When I got rush 2 weeks ago it was $30 . . .

But the seats I got were great. In the far house left section though on the aisle towards the center.

And is StudentTix open again? When I tried to join back in September or October, they said they weren't accepting any new members for a while and once they re-opened it, they would accept people in the order they applied. Updated On: 2/22/06 at 06:39 PM

You got the general rush. The SR is only available online.

Seating question answered: The seats are anywhere open, best availability.

No, you'd only have to buy one full and one for yourself.

theatreguy, no it is not re-opened.

To everyone who is interested in the HipTix program, please go check out LCT's website. You have to sign up so they can mail out applications as they re-open the program.

As for now, the only way to get student rush (which I'm fairly certain is one ticket/ID) is to go to LCT 2 hours before curtain, only applicable for the T,W,R evening shows. Wednesday matinee does not have student rush, nor do the weekend shows.

Well, according to the post RIGHT ABOVE YOURS, "the only way to get student rush (which I'm fairly certain is one ticket/ID) is to go to LCT 2 hours before curtain, only applicable for the T,W,R evening shows. Wednesday matinee does not have student rush, nor do the weekend shows."

So I'm gonna go with YES, they have student rush.

StudentTix - one ticket PER StudentTix Member (sign up at lct.org). You must have your student ID and LCT ID (they will e-mail you to print out) in order to buy a $20 ticket with the studentTix program.

Tickets can be purchased online or in person.

Student Rush is $30/ticket, subject to availabilty. Tickets can only be purchased at the Box Office. One ticket per student ID.

There's also a general rush too I believe. When I saw "Bernarda Alba" at the Newhouse I paid 30.
