Don't you think that it's time that Jason gets something new out! Lauren Kennedy's album has been out for a while now and I'm dying for news about his next project(besides his solo cd that's been in the works forever). Any rumors? news? inside sources? Updated On: 11/25/03 at 08:45 PM

I met and talked to Georgia and Jason. Georgia explained that Jason is working for a company, and they're paying him to write a musical for them to stage. I don't know anything about the musical, but I think it has something to do with The Moneyman or whatever is listed on his unofficial geocities site.

The Moneyman was a musical ballet that he was working on for a while, but last I heard he put that project on hold... the latest rumor that I've heard was that he's working on a show on Betty Boop? Weird... Anyways, I do know that he's coming out with a solo album this year sometime, he said so when I talked to him.

A Betty Boop show??? wtf. That sound crazy. Jason works best when he writes a musical about a persecuted Jew. He should stick to the formula. LOL. I personally wouldn't mind seeing "The Next Five Years"

Whatever it is, keep it far from a theater and NYC.

Whatever he's working on, can't wait to hear and see it. JRB is one of the brightest talents working in musical theater today.

BTW, does anyone know if there are plans to record any of his songs from Urban Cowboy?

No clue.... but I personally loved what I was hearing from the Moneyman! Some really good stuff there, I'd be happy if he stuck with that. Honestly though, I don't care what he comes out with as long as there's more!

I've heard people say that Nicholas Hytner has commissioned him to write a show for the National Theatre in London for performance either late 2004/5.

there was talk of recording the show urban cowboy but then the show got canned and the recording of the show stopped. Also, there was supposed to be a tour of urban cowboy in the works but have not heard anything about that either.
