Cabaret....Many Les Miz songs....I think that Big Spender is a good one, when done well. I second "Close Every Door"- it will have the hair stand up on anybody's arms. If you can find someone to do a major Wicked song, grab them. Gimme Gimme is amazing too!
Of all of these so called showstoppers, there is only one of them that I actually saw stop a show. It was "And I Am Telling You" from "Dreamgirls". After the song there was a standing ovation and the show had to stop for a while until the audience settled back down. Most of the songs listed in this thread are great but very few of them ever really stopped a show.

pab - I have a tendency to agree with you. Although, 'Once Before I Go' stopped The Boy From Oz the night I saw it - but I think that was all about Hugh, not the song.
