Hunter Foster will leave July 29 to be replaced by Luther Creek. They both were in Footloose. Creek was also in Rent and some others. Check out the story! Luther Creek Enters Urinetown July 29
I will have to see Urinetown. Luther has a great voice.
To be more specific, he originated the role of Mark on the 1st National tour of Rent (Angel company), then originated the role of Roger in the Canadian company before understudting both role son Broadway. He toured as Willard in Footloose (a role also played by current 'Jimmy' in "Millie", Christian Borle)
And he was wonderful as Claude in a tour of HAIR a few years ago, a role he recreated at the Encores version. I liked in in A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE as well.
He does...don't worry...but then again...he was also in the ensemble of the recent revival of JCS and used to run outside the theatre dressed in a Batman cape! Luther has a great sense of humor! Also, he and Danny Rockett, also former JCS and RENT alum, occasionally perform together with Danny's new band. He was a member of a band called GOD...but they have decided to take a hiatus recently.
addition to the serenity prayer:
Help me hide the bodies of the people I had to kill because they pissed me off!!! :-)
Luther looks a lot better in person.... and with shorter hair. That is just a very bad picture. He has amazing arms.. I wish mine looked like his. :) When he was in Rent, he used to get mobbed by nutball teenaged girls and gay boys after the show. I still haven't figured out why groupies insist on screeching and mobbing people. Oh well.
...for fans of Luther Creek. He'll be sporting short brown hair as Bobby Strong, instead of the platinum bottle job he's been wearing since opening the Rent tour. Saw him on the street yesterday with the new 'do. Looks good!
Well- I guess I'll go see Urinetown for my 4th time then, if this guy is good. Hes starting on my birthday....maybe its a sign that I should go see him. Hehehe- and besides I want to go to see Carolee Carmello...I hear she is AMAZING.
Carolee is incredible as Penny. She's worth the trip alone. She really lands "Privilege to Pee" in a big way, and she adds many smart and funny touches throughout, including a great pratfall and other hysterical physical business.
