I caught up with Sly Fox at last and had fun, but it was truly every ham for himself up on that stage. Much as I respect the work of Arthur Penn I didn't see a whole lot of direction going on.

The show got broader and broader as it went along, culminating in the 2nd Act Courtroom Scene which was hysterically funny but absolute chaos. Dreyfuss was great as the judge and Peter Scolari did a star turn in what amounts to a bit part as the cop, but the scene-stealer (and show-stealer, in my opionion) to top them all was Bronson Pinchot as Craven who, besides doing a hilariously complex twitch all night, suddenly developed a Monty Pythonesque speech impediment for no apparent reason.

I had to feel sorry for Elizabeth Berkley who looked ravishing but was given nothing to do and clearly couldn't come up with anything on her own. In this crowd she couldn't compete.

Not a great night at the theater, but a funny one.

Thanks for your sharing your thoughts on Sly Fox. I'm glad that you had a fun night at the Theatre. Sly Fox has not had a plethora of rousing accolades, but it still seems like it would be worthwhile to experience this comedic romp. I've added it to my itinerary and will see this show in a couple of weeks.

Same thoughts here! Had a blast at the show. Laughed myself silly during Act2, Professor Irwin will in my memory will always be shouting "She's a BIMMMMBO!".
Bronson Pinchot and Peter Scolari, were my first school girl crushes, so it was really neat to see them live on stage as an adult.

I can't wait. I have tickets for August 14th. Richard Dreyfus is one of my favorite actors.

Saw Sly Fox a few weeks ago and I agree that the courtroom scene is the best part of the show. True, Elizabeth Berkley didn't have that much to do, but I think at some parts her subdued character made it even funnier, like during the Courtroom scene. But overall I thought everyone in it was great, as was the set.

I wanna see it so bad!! My parents are making plans to see it, I think (I hope).

I can't wait to see Rachel York.

I loved it, I saw it last month, I'm thinking about seeing it again.

My favorites- Eric Stoltz practically dancing on stage, Peter Scolari REALLY dancing on stage, and Bob Dishy stealing every scene he was in.

It was a joy, that show.

I saw the show this afternoon and I do agree it was not the best but I still had a wonderful time and was crying with laughter by the end of the courtroom scene. I was fortunate enough to get to go to the student Question-Answer session after and most of them were there and Richard Dreyfuss gave me a birthday kiss!

I saw it last week, and I must say, I slept through the first act, and then cried with laughter during the second. Bronson was hysterical.

While he was twitching about, he managed to trip and fall, and some of the funniest ad-libbing went on. Hehe.

I was mighty disappointed when everyone but Peter Scolari slipped out another door at the end, leaving us hopeless at the stage door, but I won't hold any grudges. Those actors deserved a break after that performance.
