Just heard it throught he grapevine that Eden Espinosa is going on for 'Elphaba' at the matinee today, 4/11...saw her do it last time and here's some good advice: run, walk, crawl, beg, borrow or steal - but get yourself in! She's amazing in it.
Where is Idina? Having Green Eggs & Ham for Easter? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher
How I wish I could see her in it! I heard her "No Good Deed" is actually better than Indina's version!!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

If you want to pay $40 (each) for all four tickets (plus the cost of seeing it again if we don't like), if Eden goes on, my family and I would be more than happy to give her a try.
I'm not saying she's better, and I'm not saying she's worse. I'm just saying if you don't give people a chance, we'll never have new broadway stars....so give her a chance ~m~
For heaven's sake, don't try to be cynical. It's perfectly easy to be cynical.

I hope you are right VoiceofREason, otherwise there is no hope for me. LOL. I was just saying how awesome I think Idina is, and how I wouldn't want to be the one who has to fill her shoes.

I actually was at the Wicked matinee and saw Eden...I was very impressed by her. She was GREAT and the audience loved her! They cheered when she came on stage and screamed when she took her bow. You could tell she was extrememly touched. I overheard a lot of people chatting about being disapointed Indina was not there..but I think Eden might have earned herself a few fans today. Oh and it was Joel Grey's birthday too....Kristin had the entire audience sing Happy Birthday to him..it was very sweet!
I was at Saturday night's performance and Idina sounded like she might be getting sick. I hope that's not the case, and if it is then I hope she gets better soon...
thanks for the report, Pitrepower - I spoke to a couple of peeps who said she was awesome as well and the place went nuts. I can't wait to see what she does when she has a little minirun in June!
Who said anything about her being better or worse than Idina in this particular thread? Where did that comment come from? I would love to see both Eden and Laura at the same time. I think that would be thrilling. I have been a fan of Laura since she was on "Guiding Light", and was thrilled to find out that she was in Hairspray, with an amazing voice! And Eden has a fantastic voice! When exactly in June does Eden have a mini-run?

I was wondering that myself, actually. If I find out, I'll let you know. But although I didn't win the lotto yesterday, my best friend and her sister both got in. That was cool, and they loved it. I did get to meet Eden and talk with her a bit at the end. She signed my shirt, upside down, hehehe. She seemed so surprised to see a whole crowd outside cheering for her. She was really nice, and I asked her if she knew when she was going on again (expecting her to say something about June) but she said she had no idea. Could she not know it yet? But she's so pretty! I'm so mad I missed her.
You know it and you want it... you just can't believe you've got it.
