I love hearing from optimistic people! 2005 is ages away, but I hope you are all right that these shows are coming in, that they're ready to come in, & that there's a place & audience for them on Broadway. Here's to optimism! Coming in 2005 --- a highly anticipated season!

I agree, it is pretty far---but I am looking forward to it. Thomas Meehan is also reworking the book for Carnival to come back to Broadway in 2005, so I'm also thrilled about that. I'm also crossing my fingers for West Side Story to come through.

You forgot PETER PAN!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Is Spamelot really coming? That's the stage version of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, right?

I'd heard the rumors and I have my fingers crossed!

I can't WAIT for West Side Story...even if it isn't received well and closes after two weeks, just to see that show on a Broadway stage will be so special for me...it was the first musical I ever loved. Also interesting to see who will get cast, I hear they're going with really young actors.

Some worthy new plays are on the way too...The Pillowman and Democracy, from the National. Also, the revival of Reckless, with Mary-Louise Parker...

Does anyone know whatever happened to "The Little Mermaid"? I thought that it was supposed to open fall of '05, but I haven't heard anything recently, which makes me sad re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Coming in 2005 --- a highly anticipated season! i was looking foward to it.

The National Tour of PETER PAN starts this September. After the tour, they are wanting to bring it to Broadway.

The only certainties I belive are Masada and Dracula: the musical. But what about off broadway transfers? Anyone think Johnny Guitar or Bare will transfer? Or perhaps Ahrens and Flaherty's Dessa Rose?
