Some flops I'd like to see revived are:

1. What Makes Sammy Run - Matthew Broderick
2. Sherry - Nathan Lane
3. Mack & Mabel - Douglas Sills & Kristin Chenewith
4. I Had A Ball - Nathan Lane & Brian Stokes Mitchell

Golden Apple Golden Apple Golden Apple!!!! With ANYBODY!

"Promises, Promises" was hardly a flop, but it does need a new cast recording badly. Brian D'Arcy James and Idina Menzel...?

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Some years ago, I had heard a rumor that an all star-CD of THE GOLDEN APPLE was in the planning stages and the producers had "hoped to get" Bette Midler to perform "By Goona-Goona Lagoon".

It sounds like one of those 'an idea too good to ever happen' scenarios.

Bette recorded "Goona-Goona" in the 70s, as some of you may know.

THE GOLDEN APPLE is superb. I've seen one/two productions but not the original. The quality of the work surpasses anything produced these days except for Sondheim I'd have to say. As much as I support GOLDEN APPLE I don't think theatre audiences today would be willing and able to digest something that is original, sophisticated, intelligent and accessible. I would jump for joy to be proven wrong.

Not to mention today's unimaginative producers' idea of "star" casting for the revival. I shudder.

Broadway Bulldog.

I agree with you Roxy about Mack and Mabel. I would love to see that!

"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

I think Dear World with Patti LuPone is inspired casting Dollypop. I would love to see Golden Apple, but who could do it? No, please NOT Kristen Chenowith.

I see Sutton more than Kristen for the role of Mabel.

ditto with "On A clear Day You Can See Forever"

I'm not too sure, but was "Stop The World I Want To Get Off" ever a broadway musical?
