Thursday, Feb. 19, marks the 26th anniversary of "On the Twentieth Century's" opening on Broadway. It is my favorite musical and I have been collecting memorabilia from the original Broadway production since I saw it in the summer of 1978 at the young age of 15. I have several items in my collection, but several items continue to elude me. I am particularly interested in the souvenir program with Madeline Kahn (if there is one), a T-shirt from the original production and a window card from the Boston tryout. If anyone knows where I can locate these items, please let me know! Long live "On the Twentieth Century."

I saw "On the Twentieth Century" with my family in February of '78. It was in previews. We didn't know much about the show beforehand. I believe we picked it mainly because of John Cullum, whom we had enjoyed immensely in "Shenandoah." We had a middling reaction to the show, except for that young guy who stole every scene he was in. We kept talking about him.
And that is why to this day we talk about how we discovered Kevin Kline.

I have a program. But I am not willing to part with it. Sue cella was also in it ( she is now in Hairspray on tour). And she has lots of backstage stories.
