I don’t know why it has taken me so long, but I’ve really been getting into the Beach Boys recently.
I guess the standard answer to my question would be God Only Knows/Pet Sounds, but there is so much to choose from. Maybe I’ve been overlooking something.
I’ve been absolutely loving the Smile album.
P.S. RIP Melinda Wilson, who died this week.
Beyoncé is not an ally. Actions speak louder than words, Mrs. Carter. #Dubai #$$$
I've listened to Billy Joel's "Don't Worry Baby" about a million times. He ups the tempo a little from a midtempo, slightly dreamy song to a full on Phil Spector era feel, which goes perfectly with Wilson's obsession with "Be My Baby."

I would say the album "Surfer Girls" was my favorite early album. The title song, "Catch A Wave" and "Little Deuce Coupe" are classic singles. My favorite song from that album was the wonderful "In My Room", early sign of the genius of Brian Wilson.
"Pet Sounds" was obviously their best album, and it is just incredible. Brian Wilson said he was inspired to write this album by hearing the Beatles album "Revolver".
Post "Pet Sounds", I liked the album "Surf's Up" the most, especially the title song and "Disney Girls". "Till I Die" is a very beautiful song and my favorite Carl Wilson song is "Long Promised Road".
Very sad about Melissa Wilson, can only imagine how difficult her marriage was due to all of Brian's issues.
