Yes I was just going to mention her.  I think a reason I liked this way more than Strange Loop was because of the music which is NOT by Michael Jackson.  Great melodies.  Anna K Jacobs also wrote the book.  Terrific job Anna!  Looking forward to a cast recording someday.

Reviews seemed to have finally dropped and they seem pretty middle of the road but with praise for the sheer outlandishness of it all.

I will say, after seeing it both in previews and last week when it apparently opened, the show is a lot of typical MRJ fun but I do agree with a lot of the critics in that it doesn't know whether it wants to make a statement about the dark aspects of the show (religious purity, sexual assault, toxic masculinity) or just make light of it all for a story about vaginal teeth.

Really enjoyed this campy off broadway feast. It really does have the potential to go the way of LSOH, Heathers, Bat Boy etc. and become a classic camp horror show. Stunning work from Alyse Alan Louis as always (between Pretty Filthy and Soft Power, I'll pretty much see her in anything at this point- she's a delight onstage)

That being said, this absolutely should not transfer to a larger house- the size is just perfect for this. A commercial run off broadway would be divine, though.

I agree a lot with Sara Holdren's review (and many of the same points are echoed by Jesse Green), especially this part:

“The moon turns red and the lines all blur,” sings Dawn, “and inside my head I’m reborn as her.” That inside my head is crucial, but it’s not how Jacobs, Jackson, and Benson play it. By blowing the top off of Teeth — by driving as hard as they do into literal Armageddon — the show’s creators get to wreak some fun theatrical havoc, but they also wind up sacrificing a good portion of their story’s humanity.

I think the ending has changed a good amount from when I saw it, but it seems that the build up to it is the same.  I like the idea of turning the story a bit into a battle of the sexes allegory, but I'm not sure how they can properly resolve that on a grand scale while also giving a satisfying conclusion to the characters themselves.

But on the whole, it seems like the reviews, while mixed, are skewing positive which is exciting.

Agree 100%! I loved this show but hope it stays in the tradition of Little Shop of staying off-broadway (original run and current).

I would say mixed-negative.

This is the greatest musical since Here We Are.  It’s brilliant and amazing. So much better way to do a feminist story than that sh*thole musical called &juliet.  This is theatrical, bold, unapologetic, wild, amazingness.

This has been an ongoing issue with PH. I'd try calling the BO, but more than likely it's all sold out.

I'm just here so I don't get fined

Saying this is the greatest musical since "Here We Are" is not the compliment you think it is

The audience tonight was ELECTRIC. Really hope this show finds a new home so I can see it three more times.

Saw this today.  Boring, boring, boring.  Same as Dead Outlaw.  What is it with these writers?  Material ripe for satire and camp and humor and they try to make them documentaries and social commentaries.  Geesh.

Precious Gift, and several other numbers from the show are now streaming.  Alyse Alan Louis is so ravishing, if this came to Broadway this season, she would win the Tony Award EASY

Wondering if any one has rushed the show lately? Going to try tomorrow, but since BO opens just an hour before the first show, wondering what time have people been lining up? or will it be relatively easy to get them? Any insights will be greatly appreciated!
