The acting was great (with one major exception) and while there was a lot of stagehands moving tables around I thought the direction was great. With all of the actors playing multiple roles and lots of short scenes the list of cues must be astronomically long. It’s very entertaining but l left this wondering if it was telling anything that we didn’t already know. "

I saw this the other day and generally liked it.  The moving around of tables definitely got old after a while.   Curious who you thought the weak link was?  I thought the actors were all wonderful (a pretty great ensemble) but the lead female was just not good.  Her stagecraft compared to the others was horrific.   It looks like they brought her over from the UK?   Not sure why.

Yes, agreed that she was the weak link in an otherwise spectacular cast.

Other than maybe Dylan Baker, I'm pretty sure Saffron Burrows who plays Rebekah Brooks is the most famous member of the cast. She starred in the movie Deep Blue Sea and the TV show Boston Legal.

For me this play understood the facts of the case but never figured out what it wanted to say about that story. I went in thinking this scandal was important and they talked me out of it.

When Oslo ended, it was heartbreaking because they were so close to reaching peace in the Middle East. In Corruption, the ending is structurally similar but it's unclear if there really is a return to the status quo. Yes Brooks got her job back, but it's never established to what extend she knew about the phone hacking or if the phone hacking continued.

Toby Stephens is no slouch. Not a big box office name, and he'll never be more famous than his mother, but he's done a ton of British films/TV/stage work and played a Bond villain. I'm sure some of the white-haired LCT member base are very excited to see him.

I did too. People on here have said they thought Saffron Burrows was weak, I didn’t think so at all. She was towering and formidable, maybe she grew into the role

Saw it the other night and did quite like it. Cast was great and while the script was over-reaching at times, it coasceled very nicely in Act 2.

Saw Sher on the way out and Elle Fanning. Wonder if she'd be intersted in coming back to Broadway with a LCT show.
