Just back from an amazing 2.5 weeks in New York. My aim was to see as much as I could and not break the back and I more than achieved this, seeing 24 shows and still having change from $1000.

(Tuesday 8th) A Man of No Importance - $15 lottery win. I had the confirmation I had lost, but an hour after got a text through saying I had won and could claim! Got a brilliant seat in row D on the side.

(Wednesday 9th) The Piano Lesson - $37 Rush. Side of row C right orchestra, I only arrived 20 mins before box office opened. Good seat, although fortunately I was able to move over three seats before the start.

(Thursday 10th Mat) Almost Famous. $40 Right Orchestra around row G. Great seat. Again, arrived about 20 mins before the box office opened.

(Thursday 10th Eve) Topdog/Underdog, $35 Front row centre Orchestra. Brilliant seat. Went after rushing Almost Famous.

(Friday 11th) & Juliet $47 TodayTix rush. This was my third attempt at rushing this and after about a minute and a half, got a great front row centre orchestra seat.

(Saturday 12th Mat) - Death of a Salesman $43 TodayTix rush - was in row M Orchestra, slightly to the side with unlimited legroom. Great view

(Saturday 12th Eve) - You Will Get Sick - $33 TodayTix Rush, was second row orchestra just off to the side, for another great view.

(Sunday 13th Mat) - Into the Woods - $59 Rush - was a great seat just off to the side in row K orchestra. I didn't go to box office until around 1:30pm.

(Sunday 13th Evening) - A Raisin' in the Sun - $38 TodayTix rush. Was second to back row, however was moved to around 8 rows back by the lovely usher just before curtain.

(Monday 14th Evening) - Ohio State Murders - $39 Rush - Arrived at around 9:20am and was third in line. Got row C slightly on the side. I know the two infront got four together and were third row Mezz centre.

(Tuesday 15th Evening) - A Beautiful Noise - Lottery win $55, on my fourth attempt. Was back row orchestra slightly to the side which for this show was fine.

(Weds 16th Mat) - Some Like it Hot - $40 Rush, row C far left Orchestra - Really great seat.

(Thurs 17th Mat) - Only Gold - $35 In person rush, arrived about an hour before the show and got a seat smack bam in the middle of the orchestra. Brilliant

(Thurs 17th Eve) - 1776 - $35 in person rush -  went just after I'd bought my Only Gold ticket so probably around 1:15. Second row centre mezz, which was fine, although I felt at times they were very much performing to the orchestra.

(Friday 18th) - Beetlejuice - $50 Lottery. I had tried this around 5 times and finally won. Seat was row T orchestra centre.

(Sat 19thh Mat) - Kinky Boots - $40 In person rush. Arrived about quarter to midday and got a perfect seat in row J orchestra centre.

(Sunday 20th Eve) - Titanique $47 TodayTix rush - Great seats (no bad seats here really). I believe I overheard someone buying a rush ticket at the window as I went to collect my tickets, but can't confirm,

I had a friend take me to see Kimberly Akimbo and Leopoldstadt (quite possibly the two Tony winners too). Applied for the free Bob Cratchit tickets for A Christmas Carol, which were gladly received. $19 KPOP offer from the box office opening. $20 Ain't No Mo flash sale tickets. $40 for the Radio City spectacular from TKTS. $145 for Merrily from the returns queue, easily justified by being able to see everything else for such a bargain price.

The only one that alluded me was the Funny Girl lottery which I lost every time I entered (about 12 times).

Basically, very easy to rush and grab a bargain price for shows in New York at the moment. What that says about the state of theatre in New York I don't know, but its a theatre-goers market for sure.

I think you had some good luck in there to be sure. There is probably a great benefit form being many days in nyc to take the best value option each day though. Usually I am only in New York a day or two at a time last minute so although I usually try to do rush sometimes I have had to hit the tkts booth. I was able to score the Lion king at tkts for about 85 and MJ at the box office for 80 which I would consider decent wins for "expensive" tickets. I like your style. You sound like the kind of person I would be friends with. .
