What can anyone recommend in midtown for us to do? Maybe a unique shop or activity. Touristy or not!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Schmackery’s is never a bad move, I also like just hanging out in Bryant park.

The Drama Book Shop, moved and reopened this year, now located at 266 West 39th. I think it opens today at 12noon.

The New York Public Library recently reopened its Mid-Manhattan branch (now renamed the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library) after a multi-million dollar renovation that began in 2017. It looks beautiful, and has a nice rooftop terrace where you can sit and relax for a bit. Located at 40th and 5th, it's right across from the Stephen A. Schwarzman building, the NYPL's crown jewel (also worth a visit if you've never been!)
