Frank Wildhorn, the American composer, brought together more than sixty members of the Wildhorn Musical family to simultaneously world premiere this video featuring 53 singers from 12 countries, representing 17 of his musicals. Performing the powerful Finding Wonderland, from the Broadway musical, "Wonderland." Wildhorn, who had been posting popular Living Room Concerts" from his home in New York City, brought together stars including Jeremy Jordan, Laura Osnes, Capathia Jenkins and Constantine Maroulis, amongst the multinational cast to support The World Health Organizations COVID-19 Response Fund, the only global organization with a reach as wide as that of the voices on the video, while providing a musical love letter to the world at this unprecedented and unpredictable time.
I too despise some of Wildhorn's music, but the truth is, he's got a knack for writing a good hook now and again. The problem is, like Lloyd Webber, he just can't find a decent collaborator, and awful lyrics constantly plague his music. He has to scale back on the modulations as well, and "Finding Wonderland" does not change keys. Decent finale, but from what I've heard, Blunderland was mostly forgettable.
