Does anyone know any resources for heavily discounted opera tickets at the Met? I am aware of their daily digital rush ($25). Are there any seat filler sites that frequently offer Met tickets? I belong to one that has offered a few recently, but this is uncommon. Does anyone have any advice?

There's nothing like attending an opera live but I've really been enjoying the Met's "Live in HD" presentations. The camera work is usually very effective and admission is about $27.

I've seen the Met's production of TURANDOT about a dozen times in-house from different vantage points and never saw the rising of the.moon in, Act One. Last week I attended the HD presentation and finally caught that magical moment.

(I have to add that our local cinema makes these events special--with a bouquet of fresh flowers on the table where we pick up the cast list and a special menu of soups and sandwiches which are ordered before the opera starts and served on bistro tables in the corridor during the first intermission)

I pretty much go with just getting a subscription and sitting in the Family Circle. To my knowledge, they don't feel the need to paper. They do sell tickets on Goldstar and other sites but those ticket prices are comparable to just buying from the Met Opera website itself.

When the current production of RIGOLETTO was new, it was regularly available on TDF.
