I just got home from seeing the final performance of Becoming Nancy in ATL. Saw it five times and am in love. Zachary Sayle is one to watch.
ANYWAY - I talked to Jerry Mitchell before the show and he said its most definitely headed to NYC in the Spring. He mentioned the Belasco as its possible home.
Was also there at the closing performance - full house and great atmosphere.
And yes Belasco is booked with Girl From North Country. There’s a couple of smaller houses available which would suit, but this also has a cast of 20+. The Sondheim is a good size for it but rumoured for Mrs Doubtfire.
Bump. Obviously things have changed and plans have shifted a lot, but does anyone know what's going on with this project? Never got to see it in ATL, would love to see it makes its way over to NY when things are back to normal.
I do remember seeing on social media that the show was being workshopped in a rehearsal space right before the shutdown. Not sure if they were planning a Broadway transfer at that time but they were working on the material.
There are many surface similarities to "Everybody's Talking About Jamie." Not sure whether "Jamie's" upcoming film release will harm or hinder "Nancy's" future.
