Lion King Rafiki Tour Stage

I remember seeing the Lion King during its Cheetah tour run back in 2005 or 2006, I can't remember, and I thought that it was fantastic of course. However, now that it's the rafiki tour, I've noticed the stage floor doesn't all pop out and lift like it used to. Which means, everything is on a flat surface. Is there a reason? I can see some changes were made due to running time, but scailing down the sets seems to lost its appeal. Anyone else catch that?

It’s cheaper to tour this way. That’s the only reason.
