Planning to be in NYC December 26-29 and I was wondering how crowded it will be and how easy will it be to get tickets (hopefully discounted) to a few (2-3) broadway shows? My list of what I haven’t seen includes but not limited to: Come From Away, DEH, King Kong, Cher Show, Pretty Woman, Donna Summer, Frozen, and The Bands Visit. Thanks in advance for the help!
My advice would be to just purchase them ahead of time. That is one of, if not the busiest week of the year. The TKTS line has a line to get into the line. And the last few years, there have been very few shows on the board. The majority of people in line get nothing. Most shows aren't taking any sore of Broadway Box code or anything of the sort. Just my .02 cents for what it's worth.
Take a look at the grosses for that week over the years. Most shows not only don't discount that week, but they raise their average ticket price. I used to always go that week because it was a way to do several two-shows days in a row in one trip, but it just got too expensive because every ticket had to be full price.
