Hi there,

I'm visiting in May and was wondering if there will be extensions for Network (does the National Theatre do extensions in general?) and Everybody's Jamie (is there a firm closing date because something else is going in the Apollo?).

I know on Broadway, shows basically can stay in the theatre until they stop selling a certain amount of tickets (Matilda, Phantom) or they announce immediately that it's a strictly limited 12 week run.  Off Broadway, at the Public, where Hamilton premiered, they always put about a 6 week extension into their calendar, but only announce it if tickets sell well.  Beyond the potential 6 week extension, the show has to close.

I realize nothing is set in stone, but any insight would be appreciated.

Forget about Network, I find it extremely unlikely that both leads would have time to extend until May. Follies extended but I think that was the exception rather than the norm. All productions are limited runs at the NT but some have transferred to the West End (War Horse and Curios Incident... being the most famous recent cases).

I could see Jamie sticking around in London if the sales are good but they definitely announced a a rather short initial run instead of an open end one. Considering that the cast is mostly young and no big names are attached to it, it could easily become a continuous extension like ITH was.

just saw Jamie and throughly enjoyed   not a perfect show - but well directed, acted with great performances illuminated by some great songs
