I'm from Hong Kong, and I've been going to West End (it's a lot closer than New York) annually to watch shows. This September I will be watching An American in Paris. I was wondering if here it is acceptable to stage door, if the cast goes to the stage door, and about how long the wait will be. I'd love any advice and additional information I should have before going. Thanks!

Hi Nicole!

Yes, the cast exits via stage door after every show! Usually it takes them only around 10-15 minutes, so you will not wait too long. They are all extremely friendly and no doubt will sign the programme (I recommend buying one!) and take a selfie with you (or both). Some of them might also stay a bit longer there and have a little chat with you - especially Ashely Day and David Seadon-Young seem to be really chatty (or at least it is my experience).

Also, stage door is located at the rear of the theatre - when you exit the building via main doors, just turn left into New Oxford Street, pass Dorothy Perkins store and enter into narrow alleyway (first on your left) called Bainbridge Street. The stage door sign is clearly visible from there. If your're lost, just ask a member of theatre staff or any other person going this way!

I hope you enjoy the show!
