The Divine Sister at the BCP

I had the pleasure of seeing The Divine Sister in New Hope PA at the Bucks County Playhouse.  Almost all of the original Off Broadway cast is recreating their roles here with direction by Carl Andres.  It was great. Charles Busch was amazing as always.  I was disappointed I never caught this in NYC as was very glad I had the chance to see it with most of the original cast.  I am not sure how  the weekend crowds are but on a Tuesday night at 7:30 there were only about 30 people.  Most everyone seemed to enjoy it a lot.  There was a trio of older women (subscribers) behind me that at intermission seemed to be a bit confused.  One woman said to the other, this isn't Sister Act and the woman responded no and it is very vulgar.  I think they didn't get exactly what they were expecting.   However, at the end of the show I think they were won over since I heard them saying that it was very funny and the mother superior was quite the comedic actor and they hope that she is in another show there.   I got a good laugh.

I think it runs for 2 more weeks.  I recommend making a trip to see it.
