Sad news from Barbara Barrie

She's been diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a fatal lung disease. She is an accomplished and charming actress with a long career on Broadway, regional theater, film and television, including the original cast of Company. This is such sad news. I wish her well.

I always loved her in the HBO Stage version of Barefoot in the Park with Richard Thomas and Bess Armstrong...

She overcame colon cancer some years ago and was very public with her diagnosis and battle. A lovely courageous lady!

I loved Barrie in COMPANY and on the OBC recording. She has also turned in any number of terrific guest star roles on many a TV show.

She has given me so much pleasure, I wish her a speedy recovery or a painless decline.

I love her so much :'( I hope she won't be in any pain. She's an Oscar, Tony and Emmy nominee, and quite an amazing lady !!

She has a unique ability, and I don't know if it's technique or merely heredity. She can look like she's happy and sad at the same time. You know what I mean?

It's proved invaluable in a number of roles she's played.
