Lakewood Theatre Company proudly kicks off the 2013 Season with a stunning and poignant classic- Lilies of the Field. An unemployed construction worker (Homer Smith), heading out west, stops at a remote farm in the desert to get water when his car overheats. The farm is being worked by a group of East European Catholic nuns, headed by the strict mother superior (Mother Maria), who believes that Homer has been sent by God to build a much needed church in the desert. This story is timeless in its appeal, and is suitable for the family. Lilies of the Field was made into a film starring Sidney Poitier, who won the Academy Award for his role. See every show at Lakewood in 2013 and become a "Lakie Award" voter at the end of the year! Tickets are $14 for Adults, $10 for Students & Seniors.
