Great actress and amazing acting teacher has passed away.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

A great loss, indeed. One of my good friends is OBSESSED with Uta, I don't think I've ever seen him cry before.

This makes me so sad. She is an inspiration for so many actors. Truely loved the craft and passed that passion on to anyone who would listen. This is a huge loss. Thank you, Uta, for everything you did to make theatre magical and meaningful and truthful.

PEACE.

As a tribute, I'm sitting at my desk, trying to reenact the trial scene from REVERSAL OF FORTUNES in which the ubiquitous Uta played to perfection Sonny Von Bulow's maid.

She was also known for her use of earthy language in class.

We wrote a song about her about 10 years ago with deepest apologies to Frank Loesser, called "Wonderful, Wonderful Uta Hagen".

'...Better than Sandy or Lee.
Since those two are dead,
We'll take her instead,
And say Uta Hagen, teach me!'
